The 2024 NAIFA Kansas Annual Meeting will be held on December 12, 2024 at the Topeka Country Club from 10:00am to 1:00pm which will include lunch. The cost will be $20 per person. Please register so we have a count for lunch.
At 10:00am, we will hear from Kansas Commissioner Vicki Schmidt with an update on legislative and regulatory activities at the Kansas Insurance Department.
Kansas Insurance Commissioner Vicki Schmidt, a lifelong Kansan, was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas. It was her professional work experience as a pharmacist and her commitment to helping Kansans that motivated her to run for the Legislature. She served for 14 years representing Shawnee and Wabaunsee counties. She was elected Kansas Insurance Commissioner in 2018 and was reelected again in 2022.
Currently, Commissioner Schmidt serves as the vice chair of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) Midwest Zone. She serves as a member of the Property And Casualty Insurance (C) Committee, Financial Condition (E) Committee, and International Insurance Relations (G) Committee of the NAIC. She also serves on the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR) Board of Directors and the Consumer Participation Board of Trustees.
At 11:00 a.m., we will continue with a deep dive into the evolving world of AI , where we’ll cover key trends, provide actionable steps for implementing AI guidelines, introduce you to powerful Generative AI tools, and highlight relevant use cases for financial and insurance professionals. Leading this exploration is Chris Kovac, of Kovac.ai and Co-Founder of the Kansas City AI Club.
